Modernity, fine details, harmony of volumes and use of natural materials were the guidelines of this renovation which left intact the original historical façade, working entirely on the interiors, in which marble and Margraf stone play a starring role. Industria Marmi Vicentini, a company leader in the sector of the mining and processing of natural stone, has, for more than a hundred years, been at the side of the most prestigious international architects in their most significant creations, and has proved to be a reliable partner not only in terms of fine interior finishes for private residences and hotels, but also for rainscreen cladding and external flooring.
In this particular construction, Margraf marble and natural stone, expertly combined with American oak wood, give the environment a modern and elegant feel and generate an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The internal space, covering 320 sq m, develops around a very large central hall, overlooked by the wood-panelled bedrooms, the kitchen and the bathrooms, each fitted with a different stone: Grigio Tao, with its slightly darker streaks and with rare white crystalline grains; Blue de Savoie, characterised by bright blue veins which meet to form a book-matched pattern; Travertino Romano Classico al Contro, with the warm tones of its parallel grains; and Moka Cream, with its characteristic fossiliferous hazel-coloured pitting, give to each of them a different and unique atmosphere.
The stone is installed with the precision that is Margraf’s hallmark. The bathroom washbasins are made to measure, from solid 14 cm thick blocks, with hidden plumbing and chute for the water. The kitchen is also unique: the top and flooring in square “casellario” Slate integrate perfectly with the mountain chic style of this exclusive residence. A mix of high-quality, seductive materials that make every space warm, functional and cosy.
