Margraf epitomizes exceptional, quintessentially Italian design worldwide and it is a leading international name in marble quarrying and processing, so it is no surprise to hear that it will be in centre stage at the 58th Venice International Art Exhibition (11 May – 24 November).
Works by the sculptor Fabio Viale adorn the central part of the exhibition route in the new Venice Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale. He has used marble to present an original take on the iconic “bricole” (dolphins made of wooden piles) that can be seen in the lagoon city. Rather than just any old natural material, he has used Fior di Pesco Carnico®: a type of coarse-grained marble with tones that range from grey to pink and white, with ivory white veins. Margraf has the only quarry in the world for this type of marble.
