A leading player in the history of world architecture for over a century, Margraf is now consolidating its presence in Central Asia through a new and ambitious project: the Boulevard Hotel in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The Boulevard Hotel has a long history and strong ties in its geographic region. It is the symbol of the architectural and urban redevelopment of an industrial area that was dotted with abandoned shipyards and old refineries up to a short time ago. Today, based on an innovative master plan, it is part of a new area that stands out for its environment-friendly and ultramodern buildings, hotels, restaurants, parks and seaside pedestrian area.
A jewel among jewels, the Boulevard Hotel, designed by the MKW DESIGN studio and the architect MARIA VAFIADIS, stands out for the imposing exterior facade and for the minimal and refined design of the interiors, which are enhanced by Margraf’s fine marbles in the public areas, suites and spa.
The Boulevard Hotel has two lobbies, one of which for VIPs, the highlights of which are two huge braziers in Nero Assoluto. The public areas are enriched by the chromatic interplay of dark and light-coloured Margraf marbles that are tribute to the unique city’s history and its renaissance. The floor in polished Travertino Romano Classico features artistic mosaic decorations with Venetian-style enamelled tesserae and New Calacatta, Travertino Noce Light, Travertino Dark and Dark Emperador marbles. The walls are covered with antique-finish Travertino Romano Classico. Despite the building’s huge dimensions, the interior is characterised by a feeling of intimacy and refined hospitality that is created by the designer furniture enriched with finishing details typical of the traditional homes of Central Asia: carpets, soft curtains in local style and unique openings that ‘capture’ the sea breeze.
The highlight of this new luxury building is the spa with indoor swimming pool and thermal baths: a place out of space and time enhanced by the Picasso Green, Picasso Brown and Onice Fantastico marbles and the sinuous in Bianco Venezia marble surrounded guests in an embrace of absolute wellness.
