Santafiora® Venata is the natural stone that accompanies the rhythm of the city

Natural stone for an urban infrastructure of excellence.
Florence’s Tramway Line T2 is one of the most significant projects in which our Santafiora® Venata, used for public spaces, has found its fullest expression, with over 6,000 square metres of natural stone applied in a large-scale urban infrastructure context.
Santafiora® Venata with a piano limaia finish was chosen to clad ventilated facades, bonded surfaces, flooring and staircases, ensuring material continuity throughout the entire tramway route. The limaia finish — matte, compact and slip resistant — meets the technical requirements of a high-traffic public space while delivering an aesthetic quality that elevates the traveller’s experience.
Why Santafiora® Venata for a public project?
Natural stone is today one of the most widely adopted choices for cladding urban public spaces, thanks to its ability to combine high technical performance with lasting architectural value. Santafiora® Venata stands out in particular for its resistance to weathering, ease of maintenance and long-term chromatic stability, decisive qualities in works intended for large numbers of users every year. The Florence project demonstrates how a veined natural stone can integrate with the historic identity of a city without appearing anachronistic, while reinforcing the visual coherence of a contemporary intervention within the existing urban fabric. The choice of Santafiora® Venata for cladding infrastructures and public spaces confirms natural stone as the ideal material for those who design collective environments with a long-term vision: architects, contractors and public clients who refuse to compromise between function and aesthetics.
