Oko Buildings – Moscow

OKO Buildings, the two new Capital Group buildings that rise in the MIBC Moscow City complex, bear the signature of two firms of excellence on the “made in Italy” scene: Iosa Ghini Associati, for the design and interiors, and Margraf, for the fine marbles and natural stone to make the interiors unique and distinctive. The complex which includes a 6-level basement features two skyscrapers: one for residential use with 85 floors and one for offices, with 49 floors. “In line with the intended use of the two buildings, our goal was to create different spaces using materials and shapes that coexist in a perfect balance with a same common pattern characterised by a rich, but fresh and modern style,” says Massimo Iosa Ghini, as he explained the guidelines that led to the development of the concept. “The objective of the project was to create pleasant spaces for private and business activities alike.” In this exclusive context, Margraf is the star of the spaces with 1,500 sqm of polished Travertino Noce, and 1150 sqm of brushed Venghè marble which enhances the main wall and the lobby desk.

OKO Office Building
The interiors of the Oko Office Building tower are conceived as open spaces where the areas are scanned by the rhythm of large glass panels with illuminated edges. Some of the panels feature holographic film to project videos and images that contribute to creating a dynamic and modern atmosphere. Margraf’s high-quality finishes have been used to cover the large areas: the walls in Venghè marble are machined to obtain surfaces with a double curvature both in the reception area, shaping the desk and the wall behind the counter, and in the hallways to the elevators. All of the Margraf marbles have been laid with “continuous vein” matching and “book-match” style, paying special to the details, as with the flooring where the Travertino Noce is further embellished by a pattern of metal inlays and light cuts.

OKO Residential Building
The Oko Residential Building has been designed to distinguish between a “public” space with waiting area and an “exclusive” space for the residents of the various apartments. The former is particularly welcoming thanks to the skilfully balanced combination of materials like wood, stone and metal. The private area is a common space reserved to residents: a large hall divided into different spaces such as the reading area, art gallery, living area and mail box area. Though the form and function change, the surface maintains the same identity.
